"Working
Bassist"
Instruction
|
There are lots of
players available, so in order for me to be working so much, I began
to wonder what it is I've been doing right that gets me the gig. I
also wondered why I also landed gigs in rhythm sections with the
likes of legendary drummer Carmine Appice, and monster chopmeister
"Tiger Bill" Meligari.
I want to teach
you to be a bassist that will be in demand, I want to help you get
the gig! If you are content to do your valuable job as a part of the
rhythm section, working with the drummer, but most of all, working,
then let's talk.

Bremy "Working
Bassist"
Instructional
DVD
Series!
"How
many of us have monster chops like the bass greats? Not many. I
don't, and never did, yet I get called to work with countless bands
in a wide variety of styles from hard rock to blues to R&B to
country. This DVD will not teach you how to play bass guitar. It will
teach you how to be a working bassist; a bassist that can glue the
rhythm section to the lead instruments; a bassist that not only
"lays down" a groove, but blends into and becomes an
integrated part of the groove- there is a difference! I will teach
you to make you, and your band, sound better."

Summer
2010 - Part 1 - Working with Drummers
-
The
bassist and drummer are the basic components of the rhythm section
for most Blues, Rock, R&B, Country, Jazz bands and a host of
other styles. This DVD will demonstrate how it's not enough to
"lay down" a groove on top of the drummer's beat, rather to
integrate and meld into the beat to make drums musical, and create a
much tighter unit. The DVD will teach you how the basics of drums
from a bassist's perspective, understand how drummers think. Just
like the I, IV, V is a standard chord progression for about a
bazillion songs of all styles, drummers repeatedly use certain
grooves and fills. Imagine how tight you will sound when you match
these rhythms, and literally add pitch to your drummer's drums!
